Why are my 'Bank Transfer' payments showing as pending?

Bank transfer payments require a Direct Debit mandate to be authorised by your bank before payments can be collected - This can take up to 10 working days for the initial setup. Any subsequent payments can take around 3-4 working days to be debited from your account, depending on your bank's processing systems.

Whilst a Bank Transfer payment is pending, you will be unable to request a refund from your child's school or cancel the payment.

If desired, you could contact your bank. They may be able to cancel the pending payment.

NOTE

If the bank are successful in cancelling the payment, the ParentPay system will automatically block you from using the bank transfer facility in the future.

Alternatively, you could wait for the bank transfer payment to process and then request a refund from your child’s school.  The refund would be made back to your ParentPay account, whereby you would then be able to withdraw these funds or use them to pay for other items on your account.

Not found what you need?

For faster support, it is always best to contact your school first. They’ll be able to help with most issues. If you need to report an issue to us, we require that you log in to your account first. This allows us to securely identify you and your school right away. If you can’t log in, you can still log an issue with us though it will take longer to process.
